GCAC - Individual Artists Grant

I am so honored to receive an individual artists grant from Greater Columbus Arts Council! This is a first for me and it feels amazing to be recognized by such a cool institution. The funds I applied for will go to support the efforts of Mural ReMix, an arts collective that brings the city to life with projection mapping.

We are a growing community of videographers, game developers, 3D modelers, animators, and more. The club started with four members in October 2021 and now has 14 active participants and counting. We regularly send out invites to artists on our growing email list to participate in the next event. We then promote details of the gathering on social media. Each event is archived on our Youtube channel to preserve the moments we make.

Mural ReMix collaborates with muralists to add movement to existing work by "ReMixing" it, shining light on the artwork's infinite potential using projection mapping and video. Our gatherings at Mural ReMix establish a sense of community around a traditionally underserved medium. The result is truly an immersive experience for both artists and passersby.

We have so many cool collaborations coming up this year including 934 Gallery, Designing Local, and Blockfort!  Our next event includes a “Freestyle” call for artists: any video work is welcome and will be played at our next event with visuals accompanied by a DJ! If you are interested in participating scan the QR code below or please email muralremix@gmail.com.

The event will be at the rear warehouse unit located at 1018 Livingston Ave. on July 29th from 8pm - 10pm. All are welcome to attend! It should be a pretty magical time (-:

What I love most about Mural ReMix is that it brings together my three favorite things: art, community, and technology in a really fun way. I can’t wait to see what this group grows into and I appreciate all of the help along the way!
